An international humanitarian organization seeks the following candidate to work for the development and relief of marginalized communities in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Position: Associate Director – Social Development Program Location: Islamabad / Karachi No. of position: 1 Specific Responsibilities: • Oversight of implementation of yearly plans of SDP. • Support SDP team in reviewing, planning and expansion of program plans. • Strategic planning & development of SDP. • Expansion of SDP in Afghanistan. • Staff recruitment, training & management. • Reporting, networking and liaison with donors. • Represent organization at national/international level. • Fundraising & donor relations. • Ensure program quality, implementation and integration. • Program and proposal development. • Monitor program finance and budget controls. • Networking and relationship building with partners, donors, networks etc. • Ensuring systems and policies are being followed. • Ensure that SDP monitoring systems & tools are being adhered to. • Support leadership in strengthening the desired organization culture. • Coaching, mentoring and empowering direct reportees. • Developing second line leadership. • Strengthen team building & trust building. • Strengthen coordination & interaction with other programs. • Ensure visibility of program through Communication Office. • Promote an integrated approach of implementing projects across different programs. • Mainstreaming of Quality and Accountability in SDP. • Support in institutionalization of SDP practices, tools and systems. • Strengthen networking of SDP in Islamabad and Kabul Job specifications: Qualification/Experience: • For the post of Associate Director-SDP, a University degree and 10 years of experience is considered necessary. Skills/Competencies: • Good inter-personal communication skills, excellent English technical writing skills, management skills, facilitation skills, ability to take initiatives and make sound decisions and leadership skills. Ability to work quickly, proactively and efficiently under tight deadlines with competing demands. Ability to provide leadership, support & guidance to team. Technical knowledge and skills to manage institutional grants such as DFID, EU, USAID etc. Sound knowledge/understanding on thematic areas such as Women’s Empowerment, Livelihoods, Food Security, Democracy & Good Governance, Health and Education etc. Sound knowledge on Socio-political issues. • Good English & Urdu are essential • The Associate Director-SDP must be tolerant and sensitive to needs of religious and ethnic minorities, women and the poor. • In the absence of the supervisors, Associate Director-SDP must have the confidence, initiative, patience and integrity to work independently. • The Associate Director-SDP is required to follow Organization Accountability Framework and its commitment to the Codes of Conduct practiced by the organization.
